As I’m closing in on the next release, I’m thrilled by the depth I’m receiving from my latest clients. However, it happens each time I immerse my all into their world. Then something occurred to me.
You know I read reviews. And it’s so clear to me folks are zipping through these ‘text books’ like they’re daily devotionals. Then you get disappointed and say there was something missing or I rushed writing it. Or my favorite: she wrote a lot of fillers. Some scenes were unnecessary (signed an unpaid, untried paraprofessional critic 🙃)
I write stories that touches my soul. If I miss yours, I’m sorry. But the depth I reach getting to the heart of these characters is nothing short of a journey. Some readers want to learn the characters’ name and then jump straight to the destination (sex and then The End). And that’s perfectly fine; there are great books out there with that swift pace. That’s not my process.
Read. Walk with us. Journey with us. Grow with us. Learn with us.
If fast reads and character connections is your preference, I may not be the author for you.
Slow down, breathe them in, love. 🏌🏽♀️(👈🏽 My godson taught me this 😄)

Agreed! And this is why I absolutely LOVE your books!! The attention and detailed descriptions of your characters allows be to fully understand who they are and I feel like I’m in each and every moment with them. I am a fast reader and with your books I get tunnel vision and can hardly put them down…please keep them coming!!!! 🙂
I enjoy getting to know the characters and journeying with them. Your books will sometimes give us an opportunity to reflect and that can’t be done in a fast pace…may miss something!
Now having said that, it is difficult to get anything else done once I start one of your titles😱
Thank you for sharing yourself and craft with us..You are Appreciated
I Looove Love Belvn and Christina C. Jones books. I have read EVERY one of them and wait diligently for each new release. Constantly checking your blogs for teasers/excerpts from upcoming releases. I am on pins and needles waiting for CK3 because, let’s face it, who doesn’t want more of the Connecticut King Series. Keep doing what you are doing.
I love a great book with depth. It makes it hard for me to put down and also makes me reflect on my own life and experiences. You write about real life events through the lens of fiction and I love it. Your books give me the opportunity to step out of my reality for a bit and immerse myself in your characters and their lives but the depth of the story won’t let me escape too far and that’s always a good thing. Sometimes we need a little introspection from reading someone else’s situation even if it is fiction to think about our next steps. Please continue!
